How this calculator works
The calculator multiplies your total monthly ad spend (Meta + Google) by a waste-rate baseline specific to your industry. Each component uses a separate baseline:
- Cannibalization baseline: 18–25% for apparel, 20–28% for beauty, 22–30% for home goods, 15–22% for electronics, 20–25% general.
- Creative fatigue baseline: applied to total spend; 15–22% for categories with fast trend cycles (apparel, beauty), 10–18% for slower categories (home goods, electronics).
- Channel overlap baseline: proportional to the smaller of your Meta vs Google spend — that's the boundary where double-counting can occur.
Results are shown as low-high bands (±30% variance) rather than point estimates so you can see the range of reasonable outcomes.
